Will RS4 Maf and intake tube fit stock s4 airbox?

Like title says, I’d like to use an RS4 intake tube and Maf on my stage 3 build, but would also like to retain my stock airbox. Going for an overall stock appearance on engine bay parts.
I assume this Maf is appropriate for a k04 build?

Will not fit the RS4 MAF is 83mm in diameter (air flow 320 g/sec) , stock S4 is 73 mm(air flow 220 g/sec). You would need the RS4 airbox for the RS4 parts to work. I have a stock RS4 MAF if you are looking for one.

Yea the diameters are different plus the RS MAF attaches to the airbox with screws rather than the S4 clips. Most stage 3 people who run stock airboxes will run an aftermarket Maf housing to make it work (034, Autospeed, AWE are a few of the common ones).

    Fun fact -

The b5 rs4 Maf (and immediate housing) is the exact same identical part (and subsequently same OEM part number) as in all b6 and b7 s4 v8's

Will the aftermarket maf housings work with the RS4 intake tube? Correct diameter/length?

Would a 4.2 a6 airbox top fit or be a better starting point?

Pretty sure it fits the s4 bottom.

Regarding your question on the RS4 accordion hose using the adapters-YES it fits perfectly- here's an OE S4 airbox with an 034 adapter and 85mm MAF housing
    using the RS4 accordion hose
PS- 034 has an adapter for your RS4 airbox (screw on verses clip on)
The only issue is the damn cost of the Housing and Adpater
They also have the MAF housing for both the BOSCH and HITACHI MAF's
ALSO- you really want to use the Hitachi MAF
If you need to change your wiring for the Hitachi MAF Project B5 carries the needed pig-tail-

No, because same maf connection (screws) as the RS4

I am currently running the RS4 Maf accordian. 034 maf housing (85mm), and stock airbox and stock Y pipe. Took a little fiddling, but it’s been on my car for 5 months or so, when I got rid of the 034 intake. I cut the tabs (for the spring clips) off the airbox, trimmed a silicone hose down short enough. All works fine. No other adapters needed.

New setup will be RS4 airbox, 034 maf, 034 maf adapter to RS box, 100-88mm inlet hose. THE Tuner Y. Unless I can get a new MAF housing made which integrates the adapter into it in the next couple weeks (unlikely)

Curious why you haven't decided to just switch over to RS MAF? Is that because you'd rather run a Hitachi?

I run a Hitachi sensor currently but look forward to switching over to Bosch and which would allow me to use an RS box upper and accordion.

I just ported the stock S4 box top to fit 3.5" stainless pipe that I contoured to the box shape inside and epoxied into place. I use a short 3.5" coupler to the RS4 MAF inlet and then a 3.5" 45 degree silicone elbow to the Y pipe. I'd hate the idea of adapting down to the smaller S4 airbox connection if you are trying to make a lot of power.

I have an RS4 maf sitting here..I’ve got the whole AZR actually. But yes, my tuner (Brad Watkins) preferred to work with the Hitachi, so that’s what I run.

I was hoping this part of the stage 3 build was simple, guess not! My other remaining question is fuel injectors/ size. I need to start talking to a tuner.

I do appreciate all of your responses though- it's nice when others have been down the same road already.

I'd pose these questions to your tuner. .
Let them know what you are looking to do and they'll provide a recipe of items to get you there.
