Unfortunately, Akebono tends to be generally unaware of the product packaging they are peddling. Even on their own web site, for the B8 S4, EUR1018A and EUR1018B are listed, with not one single differentiator denoted to explain why there's A and B, and which one a customer would want to buy. And this isn't the only instance of Akebono doing this on their website. And they have been told in the past about this failure on their part to actually be helpful to prospective customers (EUR1322 vs EUR1322A). It appears there used to be a EUR1018 as well, and that one did not include the clips (assumed, certainly would never have been clearly denoted on Akebono's web site).
Yeah, it's a rant. A rant Akebono fully deserves and has fully earned through no effort but their own.
If we use NAPA's site to try and determine some additional details and differences, we see the idea about EUR1018 not having the clips. But all the fields for EUR1018A and EUR1018B are identical.
Akebono has responded when I've had to ask for clarity on part numbers. Though not helpful in my case, maybe they can be helpful on this question.
