    RS5 Front Brake Clearance

    Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Trying to find any information on what the brake clearance dimensions are or even the dimensions of the brake caliper and rotor relative to the hub. If someone is able to get to theirs and able to supply me with dimensions, much appreciated.

    I think the first two dimensions I got you cover the first two in your list but not sure what you mean about the last one.

    How far the caliper sticks out from the face of the disc.
    And yeah I just made a list so you didn't do anything extra.

    Disc face to outer edge of caliper is 2 7/16", that is on a disc with about 8k miles, barely noticeable wear lip on the rotor felt.

    I should have just posted something like this, I am specifically looking at B, D and E. Unless I am reading your responses wrong. Should be this I think?
    B:
    C: 7 15/16" (201.6mm)
    D:
    E: 1 3/4" (44.45mm) This may be wrong given that I think we are talking about different measurement locations.

    Hopefully this image helps. Sorry for wasting your time on some of this.

    B = 3.75"
    C = 7 15/16"
    D = 3.75" basically the same as B due to the large optional mounting lugs on the 8 pot Brembo caliper which let it be used for Left or Right applications.
    E = 2 7/16"
    The same caliper and rotor setup were used on the C5 RS6 which had a special 18" wheel and optional 19" wheel. I think it would be hard if not impossible to find another 18" wheel design which would clear the caliper. Due to the large size in the Caliper there are many 19" wheels that don't clear. On my C5 RS6 I'm running a set of 8.5x19" BBS RS-GT wheels w/32mm offset and my RS5 has 9x20" wheels with a 26mm offset.

    Yeah I am looking at BBS RS2's with a concave and trying to figure out best offset for running flush with fenders and also clearing the caliper. More than likely going to have to run some spacers regardless from the looks of things. I am currently running the stock Rotor wheels which are 20x9 et26 if memory serves me right. Thanks for the help!

    Yep, I have my RS5 Rotors on my S5 (heavy wheels), and bought a set of the RS5 10 spoke wheels for my RS5, also in 20x9" but they are Forged and around 8lbs lighter than the rotors. Funny that the Rotors were an optional wheel and were Cast and heavier. Forgot to mention that I am running 10mm spacers with the BBS wheels. Also did Titanium lug bolts from USP Motorsports, they have them on sale regularly. Stock size with the ball seat on the RS5 OEM wheels, think I'm running 50mm Cone seat on the RS6 with the BBS wheels and 10mm spacers
