    Salvageable Intercooler?

It seems that a rock has claimed my intercooler recently and it's pissing all over the lower front end of the car.

Any chance this can be repaired or just replace and install a rock screen/guard. I do tons of highway driving.

    Thanks

    very much salvageable!

that happened to me a long time ago in a galaxy far far away..

I did the repair while it was still mounted to the car, just make sure as much of the fluid has been drained from that hole. (it would be best to remove the hx to make sure its completely dry)

but once the area is bone dry, mix up some jb weld and slap a glob over the pin hole (dont spread more than maybe a coin sized amount, enough to seal the hole). let it dry, refill fluids and you are good to go!

PS) i heard in n out is gonna start showing up in your neck of the woods. enjoy!

You can get an oem spec intercooler for ~$200 shipped if you're not interested in modifying your car.

Also with so many users upgrading their intercoolers, I'm sure there is a massive amount of stock ones on the used market.

If I didn't assume it was absolute garbage, I would've given you mine.

Wait, they are garbage... Upgrade to a MercRacing if you can.

Even a stock car benefits from an HX on a warm day with back to back pulls. I saw timing pulled between runs. Just food for though. I appreciate the added heat safety on these motors though...

    this.

at the very least modification wise, the hx should be replaced with a bigger one.
it has nothing to do with tracking.

    but

if you absolutely need a stock one, i have one. check your messages.
