    034M transmission mount?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I’ve ordered the 034M transmission mount.
Is there anything special to be aware of or just jack the car and replace the OEM mount as per repair manual (haven’t looked to be honest)?

    TIA

The 034 has two mounting holes for the crossmember, instead of studs like the OEM one. You’ll need to give it a good eyeball or create some markings so that you are lined up when installing back on.

It’ll be hard to adjust the mount once you lock it down onto the bracket. Flat side goes up towards transmission housing.

Make sure you use the center mounting bolt from your OEM mount. The 034 one is too long and will pierce your transmission housing if you torque it too snugly.

Any noticeable difference going to the stiffer mount?

I didn’t notice a significant difference. When I did it the 034 seemed to be the only option other than stock OE replacement. My car is a manual and it may have reduced a bit of drivetrain slop, but also increased some NVH around the shifter in the cabin. Replacing the motor mounts and the snub mount had a much greater impact in tightening the drivetrain.

Thanks for the feedback. I have a B6 with what is essentially a B7 short block fitted with 1.8T stroker pistons and a B7 k04-064, B7 240mm dual mass flywheel and a B6 02X six speed (4.11 final drive). It pulls great and makes way more TQ from 2000-3000 RPM than the 1.8T. The down side is I get some type of harmonic vibration driveline right at 2650 RPM. I'm running the B7 rev driveshaft and tranny mount. Snub mount made no difference, swapping to RS4 engine mounts no change. Every time I swap a part in it seems to go away for a few days. A stiffer tranny mount was the next test. Putting in a new B7 mount did help... For about a week it was almost gone. I may put a go pro under the car to get a view at what is happening. Curious if others have had the same issue with the higher TQ output of the B7. Right now the only difference in my driveline and the B7 is I have a 4.11 final drive.

If I drop the boost back under 3000 rpm it goes away, and it only happens in the upper gears. Since its always at the same RPM is seems to be the time between pulses is causing it.

I have heard of others that had high TQ 1.8T's getting this, but never the 2.0TFSI people. The next move is a camera and possible simulate it in Ansys. Hoping to hear that someone had the same issue and solved it.
    2003 02X Six speed swapped, RS4 RSB, H&R FSB, B7 brakes, 2.0T stroker, DSMIC's, B7 CTS K04 turbo.

I’ll install the 034 mount this weekend time permitting. I don’t have that kind of an issue, more of a rumble at times like when in too high a gear, going in reverse sometimes. It feels like movement of the transmission more than anything else so want to see if I can stiffen it up a bit.

    Also on 034 engine mounts.
The snub mount didn’t do much for me so not installed at the moment.

To install, do I need to drop this big ass bracket or the mount can be removed from between the bracket and the tranny?
Did not find any installation instructions...

Never mind. Figured it out (just jack the tranny some more!).

Early feedback: car definitely feels 'tighter', and more responsive in gear.
