Question Anyone have the Audi Universal Traffic Recorder installation manual for the B9 Q5?

    Greetings,

We recently had our local Audi dealer install the Audi UTR in our 2023 Q5 Sportback, and I am not pleased with the front camera install. The camera is positioned in the middle of the windshield on the passenger side, while product photos show it positioned neatly behind to the rearview mirror. The rearview mirror housing and the camera mount even have the same curve in them, so it's fairly obvious they should be positioned closer to each other.

The dealership says this is not true (despite Audi's own product photos showing otherwise) and they used a template to determine the proper placement for the camera. I think they used the wrong template, but I am having trouble proving it. I can't find the install instructions and template for the B9 Q5, only the B8, and various other Audi models. Does anyone have a copy of the install instructions for our cars?

    Did you get the original (4G0 063 511) or the "2.0" (4K0 063 511)?

If you google search "audi 4K0063511 instructions", on the first page is a "Installation instructions - Audi Universal Traffic Recorder" on audiworld, but it's the manual for the 4G0 unit. The B9 A4 and A5 are the first two sections. The template seems to clearly show the camera to be center lined behind the rearview mirror. I see no reason the B9 Q5 would be handled differently. Maybe they flipped the template over, putting it on the right side of the rearview mirror instead of the left side, which would put the notch to the right side of the mirror instead of the left.

But didn't find any instructions for the 2.0. The Audi accessories image for it shows it to the side of the rearview mirror, https://shops.audi.com/en_GB/web/zub...-0-4k0063511-9
Maybe depending on PR codes, it has to be more to the side to minimize interference with the driver assistance camera; unsure without instructions.

Did you not get the paperwork for the unit? The instructions and the template they cut from it should all have gone in the car. I'd go back to the parts department and have them open up one and pull out the instruction manual so you can look at the template.

Maybe this guy has it around: https://www.audiworld.com/forums/q5-...2-0-a-3028505/
