Does anyone know what the hard coolant pipe that goes into the middle of the thermostat housing is called or maybe a diagram or link for it? i replaced the thermostat housing a little while ago and there is an o-ring attached to that pipe that i never replaced because the new housing didnt come with it and i thought it wouldnt be a problem and now it is leaking from that pipe consistently.

I believe you're talking about the lower hose pipe o-ring? Just ordered mine along with the thermostat kit which includes a bigger one on the thermostat housing itself. But yeah it is wise to also replace this one on the pipe/hose

there is a very specific order in which this area goes together so pay close attention when taking this apart..
it's been a while for me but I think there is a coolant pipe bracket and another bracket using one bolt
coolant bracket MUST go on first or it will not be pushed enough in to seal properly .
    this is easy to miss

I think the bracket gets secured after you push in the hard pipe with the new o ring: install the smaller lower pipe with o-ring first so you can get it fully seated, than install the upper hose/pipe, then put the two 5mm 12 point bolts back that hold the hard pipe bracket above the oil cooler, and then install the T30 screw into the thermostat housing that holds the pipe with o ring secure.

This is a pretty good DIY for the whole T stat replacement.

I agree. Besides the slight delay in audio there is minimalist in removing all the other extra stuffs.

yeah couldn't remebevthe whole bracket scenario, only if you do it in the wrong order iring doesn't get pushed in enough and it leaks at the coolant pipe oring
