    2018 S6, premium plus, 36,000 miles, BLK/BLK, PERFECT condition.

I LOVE this car, however the manufacturer's warranty expires in less than a month, 2/2023. I am not a wealthy individual and the thought of $$$$ repairs scares me a bit.

Reach out to Troy at FD-Warranty (http://www.fd-warranty.com/) to find out your options since your OEM warranty hasn’t expired yet. He can put together a mileage/time plan to suit your needs. Keep the ride! 👍

I was in the same boat and the new models don’t do it for me at all, so I figured I’d wait it out and either jump on a CPO RS6 in a couple years or see what the refresh has to offer. Troy got me squared away with a great warranty with no deductible so now that’s just one less headache I have to worry about.

If you have had the turbo oil screen recall performed then that should give new life to the turbos. The PCV has an extended warranty out to 10 years / 120,000 miles. Motor mounts are still a potential thing unless they have gone already. Brakes, wheel bearings, and trans service well you would have to pay for that anyways. Maybe make an appointment for an inspection and get as much fixed as you can under the current warranty.

Unless you can turn your own wrenches or have a good friend that will work for parts cost and liquor then I understand about the fear of owning an S model outside of a warranty. You can lessen the cost of ownership if you have a good non-dealer shop in your area.

Thank you. The general maint is for sure costly, but we all knew that going in, its the larger failures that scare me. I'm glad to hear your car has been very reliable.

I know a few guys who just opened a small audi shop in Newhall, CA. Great prices and they do mobile work when they need to. They've done a decent amount of work to my A6 and they do good work.

Why own a car if being out-of-warranty scares you? if it bothers you that much, then either buy the extended warranty or sell it.

The intent of my post was to receive replies/advice from experienced C7 owners, to help inform my eventual decision on the two options you listed above. The replies thus far have provided the desired guidance. Thank you for your message.

As an owner of a 13 S6 that is about 10 years old now and a lil over 90k miles, I can say that I love this car and it has not been expensive to maintain for me at all.

If you have any questions or encounter any issues you have seasoned veterans to help

overall just remember these main things and you will not have to worry about breaking the bank

    1. Consult with people about the issue you have, could be a simple fix, could be a cheap fix, you never know
    2. Don't go to the stealership out of warranty. dont do it. They will charge you an arm and a leg, and the work will probably still not be up to par.
    3. Find a good indy shop, their rates will be cheaper, and if its a reputable shop their work will be better. If you are handy with cars, do it yourself.

That being said, theres not a whole lot to worry about on these cars. The turbo/oil screen issue of course, and some other minor possibilities. But nothing that will break the bank.

As far as DSG, mine is still holding up well at stage 3 power levels for over 30-40k miles now some people have way more miles and more power than me and theirs is holding up as well
