Question RS3 Brakes replacement advice / Eastern Pennsylvania

    Hey Guys,

So I bought a 20' RS3 back in August from Audi of Allentown (won't be going back) with 21k on the ODO, long of the short now at 26k my service brakes light is on and its telling me to contact service. From what I can tell, dealerships are charging upwards of $1500 for pad replacement on RS3's. Anyone have any contacts or general advice as to getting this done for less money? I found front pads on-line for significantly less, but don't know of any mechanics that are recommended or reputable to do the job in Eastern/Southeastern PA.. referrals are appreciated, I don't drive hard often and I'm bent that after 5k miles I'm dealing with this. I guess that's the Audi world though, you've got to pay to play.

It would still be nice to find someone reputable that can do it for less than paying the guys I never want to give a dollar to again to do it. (Should have gone to Audi of West Chester from the gate, but I digress)

    Thanks in advance!

Welp, you bought a street/race car with (I’m assuming) carbon ceramic brakes so it’s going to be some coin to replace them.

Get your parts from FCP, then go to any shop you trust to do the work. If you have the means, doing a pad job is a great way to learn how to wrench in a relatively simple way with proper tools.

The parts have a lifetime warranty so the money you spend now will be paid for the next time you do your brakes

    Carbon ceramics?

A lot of people are running these:

Customer service is second to none.

It’s also only about 30-45 minutes of work per side with minimal tools, could just do it yourself.

I've read that Audi discontinued ceramic's on the RS3 after 2018, although I am not completely sure, It's just what I've read on other threads. I think FCP Euro is going to be the way to go, after doing some research and talking to a mechanic buddy of mine - he agreed they are one of the best names in the industry. Plus, I found a 10% off coupon that drops it under $1950 with taxes, considering the lifetime warranty, and that i'm almost certain to have the car through another set of pads (and apparently rotors die regularly on these) I think that's going to be the game plan - thanks again guys!
