    WTB big brake kit

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I am currently running the FCP Euro big brake kit (the Macan 4 piston upgrade) with PagID pads and SRF fluid and I'm not really happy with the performance for track days and for daily (on HPS pads) considering the price/noise level.

At this point I want to go with something more aggressive where hopefully the performance upside makes up for the downsides. Open to proposals/suggestions or willing to trade if anyone would be interested in that.

I wish pagid would make pads for the RS5 calipers! I loved the blue for street and orange for track on my b7.

Didn't realize this was an option. Is there an installation thread / what adapter would I need?

Go with alcon 6 pots, hands down best kit you can buy for the money. Paragon and revo both sell them. These are real deal bbk unlike oem upgrades.

    Second this:
If looking for a real racing brake kit, alcon or stoptech trophy
If looking for a good looking bbk go oem like the Q7 or Rs5

I run Stoptech Trophy and they are unbeatable on track
Nothing to compare vs my old macan setup

These actually look great. Are they aggressive for street driving? I assume you can still get non racing pads for them

Isnt our master cylinder too small for the q7 calipers? They look amazon but i was reading even with the brembos there's some sponginess to the pedal due to bad master cylinder to brake cylinder ratio??

I haven’t found it to be any more that the stock brakes. If bled throughly it is a great upgrade. There’s always the option of getting the Q7 or rs5 master.

The “real” BBK from Alcon is probably over $4000, you get 6 pistons and 380mm 2 piece rotor with replaceable rings (some companies no longer allow you to do the replacement), the oem plus BBK is 375mm non replaceable two piece and will cost about half or slightly more depending on rotor choice. I can tell you the two piece Girodisc is .3 to.4 lbs lighter the the oem. If you want slotted they would be the best option, or you can run rs5 or q7/8 rotors. The difference in prices are $13-1400, $1000 or like $600 respectively. Just information, use how you see fit. Best wishes
