Hello-have now had the Yellow Thermostat-warm up the car notice appear 3 times. It’s on page 233 of the manual. Obviously it’s going to the dealer, but-anyone seen this before? Thanks for any info.Jim

    Is it this?

    Error: Please warm up engine
"Fuel has entered the engine oil, either from low outside temperatures or frequent short drives. Drive until the engine is warm so that the fuel in the engine oil will evaporate. Avoid high engine speeds, full accelerating and heavy engine loads when doing this."

Was it just recently or been ongoing? I'd just drive the car for awhile and let it get a good hot trip out of it, if that's what's causing it.

That’s it-BUT I have driven the car -it goes off-now, next day or so it’s back AND car, going by the temp gauge, seems to take quite a while to even register that it is warming up.it’s shown up 4 or 5 times in last few days.

So I decided to bite the bullet and buy an OBD scanner as I’m far enough from dealers for both cars that it will give me some base info if any warning lights show up.

I suspect you need a least 1 or 2 drives of at least 30-40 min duration to get enough heat in the oil to evaporate any fuel residing there. If you have the Virtual Cockpit, select the view that shows Oil Temperature and do some higher speed drives with the oil showing in the 212-220F range.

yup and also put the gear into "S" sport mode, that'll run the engine harder and keep RPMs higher so that will help out.

So-the new OBD scanner did not show any codes and it has, after some longer drives, seemed to have resolved and disappeared.Still going to do a Mityvac oil change just because. It still seems odd for the notification to have shown up now, instead of during the height of the pandemic when it was driven even less. It might also be due in part to the colder temps in my area in the last few weeks.
    Thanks for all the ideas.Jim

it's not just about being driven less, if the car is off and sitting there that's fine. it's more about short trips, and you mention the colder temps that definitely has an effect, because the engine doesnt get to fully warm up and there's still condensation and other stuff. i dont think an oil change would be necessary really, unless you were due for one soon anyway. but glad that fixed it, should be good its just the short local trips over time in cold temps that do it.
