Introducing our Flow Formed SM-10 wheels, with bolt-on fitments specifically developed for the Audi 8J and FV/8S TT/TTS/TTRS. These 17” and 18” wheels are offered in both 8.5” and 9” widths to ensure all types of drivers have access to the right wheel fitment for their specific needs. When the team at APEX Race Parts initially reached out to the VW/Audi community with the intention to offer a race-focused wheel line for the MQB chassis, the feature and functionality requests from engaged enthusiasts were overwhelming. We quickly learned there were numerous gaps in the current aftermarket offerings, and as a result, we made it our mission to engineer better wheel solutions for VW/Audi drivers on and off the race track.
Specifically, there was a demand for an aggressive, strong, and lightweight 17” track-focused wheel line with the ability to clear many of the popular big brake kits that typically forced enthusiasts to use 18″ or 19" wheels. For weekend track warriors and racers, running unnecessarily large wheels meant more weight, less tire sidewall, and higher tire running costs. Leveraging laser scanning and exhaustive on-car fitment testing sessions, our engineers optimized the barrel shape and spoke curvatures of the SM-10 design which allows our most track-focused 17×9” wheel to clear factory S3 brakes, as well as noteworthy aftermarket BBK’s like Essex AP Racing and StopTech 355mm kits. For cars running larger factory brakes, such as the TT RS with massive 8-Piston calipers and 370mm rotors, the 18x9" ET42 offers plenty of breathing room without any need for spacers.

Without model-specific attention to each wheels specifications, maximum performance is compromised. Each size was selected to find the right balance between a clean fit and the most grip possible. Each design's wide range of widths, offsets, and face profiles result in unique fitments. Each wheel combines these features to meet the different brake caliper, strut, and fender clearance needs of each VW/Audi model. Most vehicle models have options for wheels that range from direct-fit to aggressive for specialty applications. Daily drivers and professional racers don't have the same needs, so why should they be forced to buy the same exact fitment?

No aftermarket hardware required, just bolt on and go. All APEX VW/Audi SM-10s are specifically optimized for the MQB chassis, utilizing a 5x112 bolt pattern, 57.1mm center bore, and OEM spec R13 ball seat lug recesses. This means you won't need to bother with additional aftermarket hardware such as centering rings or conical lug bolts. All wheels come with gloss black APEX center caps, but you can also snap-in your OEM 66mm VW/Audi caps for a more OEM+ look. All APEX wheels accept OEM and aftermarket equivalent TPMS sensors, and any standard-sized metal or rubber valve stem.

With many applications, even big brake kits will clear spacer-free. The 17" SM-10 clears many kits up to 355mm, while our 18" SM-10 clears up to 380mm, including the massive factory 8-piston OEM RS3 brakes, which has been a benchmark as one of the toughest brake setups to clear.

JWL & VIA - More Than Just a Stamp


Many companies promote their wheels as being certified by the VIA when they actually aren’t. That’s like using the USDA logo on food without permission. APEX flow formed wheels are officially tested and registered by the VIA in Japan, and we have the proof to back it up. Japan’s JWL is a standard for wheel load ratings. Our wheels exceed those ratings. Most manufacturers only meet the minimum, while some even fall below—yet they still claim to be JWL. Always verify load ratings before you buy.

Knurled beads help, but are less effective when painted over. Our forged line features unpainted knurled beads that stay sharp and maximize grip.
