Please help me understand why the RS4 Recaro seats cost more then double of the S4 Recaro seats?

Ugh I just went through this at a local furniture store. I just cannot figure out why a solid wood table is way more than a plastic folding one. Makes zero sense.

Also, standard S4 seats are recaro? I threw mine out when actual Recaro’s went in.

Recaro’s were an option in the S4 in Europe - not common at all. Nearly impossible to find now, especially for a sedan (I spent 11 months looking). Different seat to the RS4. Never offered in the US. Standard seats in the S4, PFL or FL, sedan or wagon, were not Recaro for a B5. Only B6-B7.

For what it's worth, those seats have been for sale for over a year at that price. That said, the RS4 recaros are significantly nicer than the stock seats and definitely command a premium.

Interesting........ I did not know that about the B5 S4 seats are not Recaro seats. I figured all S cars got Recaro seats. My past UrS4 and UrS6 came with Recaro seats. Maybe I should try to find a pair of UrS seats instead but I love how comfortable those seats were.
