    Problems with Britney

So I Bought the A4/ B7 a few months back as a commuter as i drive 135 miles a day for work. I had a few issues, things is that were common PCV valve and vacuum leaks,
So the things Ive done recently,
Plugs/ Coil pack, PCV & hoses, Throttle body. I did this due the throttle body having a little oil residue and a missing gasket. it threw these codes as well probably a month into driving it. This fixed the issues. Until now.
Winter shows its face and the water and slush have seem to get into the intercooler. about a full quarts worth. Yeah the hose clamps were loose. So this beautiful mix made its way up to the throttle body and PCV. I flush the entire system of the intercooler. hoses and tube channel. Replaced the PCV and cleaned the throttle body. The residue mix stopped at the PCV. upon further inspection.
The car is running pretty damn rough now. after cleaning everything out and reconnecting. Threw a few codes:
P0458 EVAP SYSTEM PURGE CONTROL VAVEL CIRCUIT LOW
P0245 SOLINOID VALVE (a) FOR BOOST PRES. CONTROL N75
    P0301 cy1 misfire
    p0303 cyl 3
    p0300 multiple cyl misfire.
I've switched coil packs around to rule those out.
My only conclusion now is that the throttle body is ruined due to the water/oil that was sucked in from the intercooler.
& Boost Solenoid Control Valve possibly as well. As a note the TB I purchased first was like 80.00 from Rockauto.
    Thoughts?

Totally disagree - I've had my car since new and with regular maintenance over the years and currently at 212,000km, my Avant runs like new.

Do you still have the Evap System and Boost Pressure errors? They are different valves than the PCV. Water and slush into the engine is obviously not good but I think you need to be a little more methodical with your troubleshooting. You switched coilpacks around but did you check the spark plugs as well? What's the status of your cam follower and fuel pressure rail from the HPFP?

be pretty hard to destroy a tb by 'sucking in air and oil', pretty well sealed and easy to take apart...

be funny if you havent pulled the spark plugs and theyre toast

I knew I would catch some attention on the junk part. I did change the plugs, that was stated in the 1st post along with coil packs. The cam follower was new as well. Fuel Pressure was perfect. A friend of mine that's a service tech a the VW shop came over and we went through some codes with his PC. Came down to a compression test. Cyl. 1 is the culprit to the issue. Less than 60%. Motor's Fkd. Thinking I may have sucked moisture into the system nothing made past the PCV. When we pulled the plugs that were just installed prior looked like they had 100k miles on them. Junk. 4500 car with 4500 car problems. Didn't even put on 6k miles.

I don't get how you "sucked in water" in the first place.
When you replaced coils, PCV, etc, did you use quality parts? Like a genuine PCV, and coils like Bosch, NGK, genuine, etc?

I'm sympathetic (I understand the frustration) but as annoying as it is it sometimes comes down to "these things happen" when dealing with used cars. In an ideal world you do a compression test prior to buying (I say "ideal" as I understand not everyone wants to go to that level of pre-purchase inspection.) Now conversely if you bought it with pretty darned high mileage I would have done that, or had a shop do it for you as part of a pre-purchase inspection. Anyway hate to be that guy (and no offense meant) if you want anvil-like reliability you'll want a Honda, Toyota or such like.

Hope you get things resolved or are able to re-coup some of your money.

I feel bad for this guy, but there has to be more to this story.
They're not scared of you. They're scared of what you represent to 'em.

Sh$t happens is all I can say. a 4500.00 car with 4500 car problems. Ive come down to two options. I found a motor 87k tested and a warranty 2k delivered. Minus turbo alt. ac comp. Just yank off the oold one. New Seals, good once over. maybe 3500-4 out the door. Or Or or... I'm able to full a full engine kit from Audi Germany through some hoops and loops for 5k. Some Assembly Required.. Needless to say I will giving the car to my nephew after the summer. I want to make sure its a decent car for his first. The days of 500.00 Cadillacs with FWD and 502blocks are long over. I've decided to buy a new A5 instead of a banger to drive 500+ miles a week. Fk it.

What are you pricing from Audi? A full rebuild kit, short block?? If ya habe the ability/knowledge to rebuild, ya can do it a lot cheaper..
