    Backup camera not displaying correctly

    My backup cam recently stopped showing up on the mmi screen. It still beeps through the stereo as if it's working but it does not display anything. Is there an easy fix or do I need a new one? I am on the factory mmi version.

    what di you mean beeps through the stereo.

    are you talking about obstacle detection? if so that uses a completely different system with sensors in the bumper . Not related to RVC

    when you put it in reverse does the volume go down on the radio and the reverse lights come on ? if so i would say everything else is working and you have a failure of the camera or associated module.

    Best to do a scan and see which DTC you're getting, then perform the appropriate for that DTC.

    I got the intermittent error with the backup cam in my avant. implausible signal code. My battery capacity was less than 30% read through OBD11. I replaced the battery with a new AGM and have not had the backup errors since. Not sure if it was the fix or I'm just lucky, but something you can look into.
