Looking to buy a b6 avant rolling shell with a clean title for a project. blown motor, cracked head, high mileage, or any other issues, all good with me. specifically a manual and a 1.8. If you have an automatic and it’s a USP or something cool i might consider it.

[mention]EuroxS4 [/mention] what are the differences with 02’s besides the ugly window switches and different vacuum lines. I thought I heard somewhere that either the immo is different or some other thing that keeps you from being able to adapt an 04/05 S4 etc color DIS cluster into them. This may sound ridiculous but it’s genuinely something keeping me from picking up an 02. Ive owned 3 04/05’s now so they’re new to me.

Maybe I need to research it more to fully answer your question. I have an 04 and have had an 03 also. I haven't noticed any major differences working on them, and I've taken them all apart. I had a B5 Passat also, and that one was different for sure, vacuum lines mainly.

The 02s have a battery cowl cover (+), a 5MT (-), rear heated seats (+), lower quality manual seats (-). Other than that I haven't noticed many other differences.

Description is wrong. An 04 would have a 6MT not a 5MT.

It has rear heated seats so I’m assuming it’s actually an 02. Either that or this is an automatic to 5 speed swapped 04, but hard to believe someone willing to do a manual swap would give away a perfectly good avant just cause it has a blown 1.8.
