Hello! Bough a used DIS instrument cluster for my C6 and wanted to remove CP by reading the EEPROMS. Somehow, my old EEPROM refuse to give consistent numbers.
So before I go nuts and buy a VAS and start a side-hustle, does all the modules that have CP have the same CP code?
I mean, the cluster with the HVAC and MMI etc, have the same codes for CP?
I can read the HVAC EEPROM, copy the CP code and rewrite it on the cluster? Thanks!

Hi!

The CP will need to be unlocked from the mothership.

So you will need dealer access to do that even if you have a vas and the right software.

Also if there are hardware damage with the cluster, you won't even be able to unlock it even though you get a CP error code.

Every module has a different CP. So if the cluster is the issue, you will need to unlock that individually.

They don't make it easy to simply swap a module unless it's brand new, then you might be in luck.

You would need to calculate CP by pulling data from multiple modules like ecm, access start, comfort module and amp just to name a few after you have all that data then you can try to calculate CP. otherwise ODIS with geko and valid cert is you only option. Probably the quickest and easiest also.

CP is different than SKC or pin.
