B9.5 RS5 resonator delete install - issue

Has anyone in here installed a resonator delete kit? I bought one from ECS, had it put on Thursday and now the car sounds like it has an exhaust leak. Makes a fluttering noise at idle, heard mostly in RS/dynamic mode. Cold starts sound awful and hitting the gas from 1k-3k rpm or is it sounds awful. Sewing machine like almost. Wondering if anyone has had this issue? Took it back today to have everything looked at and they said everything is tight and there aren’t any leaks, so idk. They said it could be “resonating differently.” It’s a 2021 RS5 Sportback.

Is it actually a ECS branded kit or is it Bull-X? They come with crappy clamps and I would bet it's not perfectly sealed. You shouldn't hear any strange noises other than more exhaust sound.

It’s from ECS. I contacted ECS, showed them the video and they sent better quality clamps. Haven’t arrived yet. They told me it’s from a third party and they don’t actually make it. Said it’s VSRF who makes them. Shop today took me under the car and showed me everything. Clamps were tight and they said no leaks. I’m not a professional, but it all looked fine to me. I’ve found two others on Facebook who did ECS and have the same noise. I just ordered one from Bull-X. Gonna have it put on and see what happens.

I bought some high quality clamps on Amazon that several people in another forum discussion swear by. Had the clamps swapped out and new ones put on and the sound is gone. It was definitely the clamps. Sent the bullx kit back.

Good choice. Did you go with the Vibrant Performance clamps? They are so much better quality.

I did! They’re much better than the ones that come with the kit.
