    C7 S6 vs D4 S8+ cost of ownership

    I purchased a 2016 S6 from this forum 1 year ago. I love it, did all of the work to get to stage 3 DS1 with all associated upgrades. I have 81k miles on it.

    A 2016 S8+ caught my eye. It's got a custom DS1 tune, dynamic package and CCB, exhaust and has 63k miles. It'll likely be around a $20-$25k cost to sell mine and upgrade.

    Beyond the creature comforts afforded by the S8+, I'm also thinking about the longer-term costs of ownership. The S-tronic vs ZF8 is my main concern since I assume my mechatronics unit and/or the tranny will go at some point, and since I like having a modded 4.0T the ZF seems like a better choice.

    Are there any other major factors to consider as both platforms approach and exceed 100k miles? Thanks for all of the feedback.

    If you said "car has a custom APR tune" I'd think Mark/Proskier is back at it haha

    Same COO in regards to the engine and the main points of the drivetrain, minus the differences in transmission and brakes.

    You'll want to thoroughly inspect the CCB. Thery also have a very hefty replacement cost, if they need it. They say "lifetime", but that all depends on your driving style, personal car care; soap and other products you wash/care for your car with can impact them, maintaining pads, etc.

    If you are planning to keep the S8+ long term and well over 100k miles, you'll want to be cognizant of those CCB cost
