    Tie Rod

So I installed raceland ulitmo coilovers last weekend. Yesterday I was adjusting the ride height on the fronts when I noticed my right outer tie rod end wasn't seated all the way in the sleeve.

I went ahead with taking the bolts out, seated it properly, and put everything back together. But now I get a low groan/creaking sound when I turn right at extremely slow speeds or a standstill. It's only a low noise and it doesn't sound bad but if it wasn't doing it before I'd like to at least give it a shot at fixing.

I wonder if I should take the end out again, lube it up, and shove it back in and maybe that'll fix it.

Only thing is I just got an alignment done today. Would taking the tie rod end out and putting it back in mess with my alignment? If that's all I'm doing I don't think it would but I would like a second opinion.

Any help is appreciated, thanks :D

Ya don't lube tie rods. But removing it, and putting it back in the knuckle, won't affect your alignment. Long as ya don't loosen the jam nut on the tie rod.
Was the pinch bolt, and other bokt tight before?
Don't know what the groan can be. Don't know what would change from what you did.

You said you did a heigh adjustment, I assume lower. Did you loosen your inner bushings and re-tighten at the new ride height? If not they will be under more stress (more twist ) at the new height and sometimes make noise or even tear a bit if they are old. That’s the only thing I can think of.

"groan" is often a dried out tie rod end with no lubrication.

The first thing i would ask is what kind of alignment shop does an alignment without doing the basic suspension checks first. They should have refused to align until you resolved this issue , or at least advised you of it. My guess is they did a rush job without doing the pre- checks.
