    Boost Sensor Fault

    Hello,

Has anyone had their check engine light come on a few weeks after adding a tune? Audi said it was an over boost issue and said typically happens with aftermarket tunes rofl. I have a third party warranty and only went to them to get my pre paid 50k service or else I would’ve just went to my guy.

I sent 034 an email and expect to hear back soon. The car drives fine and Audi didn’t seem worried.

Also deferred their expensive wiper change lol

    Thanks

Also, what’s a decent obdII scanner that certainly works on our cars? I don’t need anything fancy. Just something I can read and clear codes with. Thanks

Yes, I am having the same issue.

Mine is a 2021 on the 93 tune - over boost codes verified with VCDS - it will throw the check engine light and drive train malfunction.

Stock other than the 034 tune. I have still have a ticket in with them for this issue.

Thanks! I just sent an email Friday. The car drives fine I just don’t want to hammer on it until it’s fixed. What’s a good scanner to get that isn’t crazy expensive?

    I use this one: https://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/

It is very user friendly, can clear codes, read them, do some adaptations and other things. I would not floor the car until they get this fixed; I would recommend flashing back to stock to be 100% safe, I did.

OBD11 can scan and clear codes. The up-front cost is a lot cheaper than a VCDS interface from Ross-Tech, assuming you already have a smart phone or tablet.

I own both. My Ross-Tech MicroCAN interface is too old for the Audi though, it only works in my wife’s MK7 Golf R. I was going to upgrade to a newer model that would also work with the Audi but opted to go OBD11 instead since it was about half the price.

By "Audi" do you mean an Audi dealer? I have to think they have a method to confirm their diagnosis. Perhaps the solenoid was weak, and the tune put it over the edge.

Was just about to go with 034 (2021 SQ5) and this is very relevant to my interests, esp. that there are multiple instances reported ITT.

APR had this issue. I got this code with v2.0
    P25B400 - Turbocharger/Supercharger Wastegate "A" Stuck Closed
    static

Their v2.1 fixed it. 034 needs to figure it out. Probably nothing to worry about, but it's unnerving.

100% agree it is a little unnerving. I’m awaiting a reply to the email I sent them.

Any movement on this from 034? I was looking to migrate to 034 asap.

Thinking about it, two MY2021 SQ5s have issues ITT, and I have a MY2021 SQ5 and am having problems with an APR tune (not boost CELs, cold weather hesitation/bogging on WOT shifting). I wonder if it's a MY2021 thing. Apparently MY2021 has an altogether different ECU. Hmmm.

Perhaps something was overlooked in migrating the tune from B9 to B9.5?

I haven’t heard anything yet but I may call them Monday. My car still drives just fine but not giving it any more gas than cruising around.

My check engine light went off today after I drove to the store and re started my car. I didn’t know it would just go away. I’m going to get a budget scanner so I don’t have to pay Audi to diagnose and clear codes. I’m waiting on a reply to 034 though.

I got good news from 034, they have a 21 test vehicle in to do testing on this week or next. So they are looking into it. Hang tight, they have been very informative and concerned. I am confident they will get it squared away soon.

They reached out to me to see my additional hardware to work thru the issue. Thanks

I got the blue driver OBD tool with Bluetooth. It worked great! I was able to send a freeze frame over to 034 in seconds.

If my check engine light went off a couple days after coming on for the waste gate closed stuck code, does that mean it was a “fluke”? Thanks

034 just sent me a revised tune for the issue. I’ll upload it tomorrow and see how it goes. They/I believe it was a false positive and the light went off and I sent them an OBDII freeze frame.
