    Lightbulb Problems with interior lights

    Hey guys,
I recently purchased a 2012 c7 4g bitdi and I cannot seem to figure out why my interior lights are not turning on when any door opens, or perhaps its the other way around, my lights are not turning off when all doors are closed, the lights are otherwise working fine when any of the light buttons is pressed. And also if I left a light on and lock the car, the light turns off and remembers its position when unlocked later.
    So far I have tried:
    • all possible combinations of the overhead button (the one with the car door open and the little amber light
      - amber light on while the lights are on/off
      - amber light on while the doors are open/closed
      - amber light off when the lights are on/off and doors are open/closed
    • checking all of the above while outside its dark and I have my headlight switch both on Auto and On
    • checking in vcds to see if there are any related error codes (there were none)
    • checking in vcds to see if anything was coded out by previous owners
    • checking all fuses on left and right side with a multimeter (all of them were not broken, there was continuity/beep)
    • doing the lock unlock sit in car start procedure

When any of the doors/trunk/hood is open I can see exactly what is open on the cluster display, so I assume its not a faulty door switch. Also its worth mentioning that all 4 footwell lights are on when car is unlocked and while driving.
Only thing I can think of that I have not checked is weak/bad battery, but apart from the courtesy lights the only other issue I have noticed is seat memory is sometimes not working properly, and that's it.

I would appreciate any help. Thanks!

Okay so finally I managed to figure out what the problem was and I fixed it. It turns out the previous owner had retrofitted the newer interior light package, and that includes a different overhead lighting panel. After some rewiring it started to work flawlessly.

Sounds like the previous owner did the LED conversion? It does indeed take some canbus work to get them to operate as designed. Good job tracing it down.

Yes, exactly. And the one that I have in my car is the one on the left with the sunglasses compartment.
