Our vehicle had a rough start to life...a month after we purchased this for my wife, she was at work and heard her vehicle alarm going off. Turned out a patient from our mental health unit who wasn't admitted was upset and went on a vehicle rampage. He would ultimately damage over 40 vehicles before getting to my wife's while I was at the hospital working. She saw a man jump on the hood, kick in our window and then run...so she gave suit, called Police and caught up to him at a local McDonald's. With our vehicle literally on it's first tank of fuel, it was undrivable as the windshield was so badly damaged. So off to the body shop then the fun began....
1. We got the windshield replaced and hood clear coat redone due to damage...and we thought we were good...but nope we were wrong
2.. After the windshield was replaced there was a sensor in the rear view mirror not connected so we had a check service light on the dash indicating something was wrong..turned out the Audi dealer needed to check and clear and adjust this sensor which took a second visit.
3. As this is my wife's daily driver I wasn't in it much. When I did get into it after this, I noticed the A pillar on the passenger side was off...turned out a clip was missing in it was not flush...again to the body shop and go that fixed....now getting annoyed...
4. After this all was repaired we booked the vehicle in for a 3M hood/mirror treatment
5. 1st round back, the hood/fender 3M was not symmetrical and bubbled so back to the detailer to fix
6. 2nd round, 3M film removed and redone, no better, bubbles everywhere but more symmetrical but time when back, there were massive scratches across the repainted/reclear coated hood!!!! So pissed!!!!
7. 3rd round 3M film removed and redone...the company brought in a refinishing company for the hood and redone (my wife was beyond angered and I was super frustrated at this point...I wont' share the name of the shop or discussions but it was not a pleasant experience.
8. 4th round the 3M film was done to 90% my satisfaction but done with this company and hood refinished, we moved on.
9. I glazed the vehicle with a ceramic wax, moved a set of 18" M-Klasse Rims from Kal Tire (German 5 spoke) and installed a set of Nokian Hakkapeliitta 10 studded tires for winter in a 255/55/18 size which cleared the brake calipers and offered tons of sidewall for our crazy cold Saskatchewan/Canadian winters!
Finally at 23,000kms and Dec 2022 driving we have a vehicle free of issues and looking amazing/quick and filled full of tech (most of which we could care less with). The plan is to keep and once warranty is done, look at upgrading exhaust, and installing a tune. I've had a recent experience with Integrated Experience on my DD 2015 Audi B8.5 S4 6MT Stage 2 with single pulley and upgraded exhaust and they are unable/unwilling to disable the check engine light once a set of High Flow Cats are installed, so we'll be looking to move away from this tuning platform (which is great) but need to be able to clear annoyance lights like that. So we'll be sourcing another tuning company for my S4 and this B9 SQ5 when warranty is up and sorting out aftermarket go-fast bits once ready. Goal is for a 500+hp SQ5 with daily drivability and no check engine lights and no frequent issues...so now the research begins on this platform.
I'll attach pics our SQ5 dirty and then off to the local car wash, cleaned and dried with a chamois/squeegie and off to the garage again! Snow is 1-2 feet deep locally and temps are -20-30 degrees celsius...so freeze your nuts off sort of temps!
This is of my wife and I shovelling after getting pounded with city/shut down amounts of snow!

Then once we were settled a pic of the SQ5 ready to be cleaned in our 4 car garage w lift and 13' ceilings:

Finally at a local car wash (Pristine Saskatoon, Sutherland)

then finally at home:

And a plug on our Nokian Hakkapeliitta 10 studded tires with M-Klasse 18" rims German 5 spoke rims
