    G62 coolant temp sensor readings

I'm getting 102-103c (215F) according to VCDS at G62 CTS.

It's pretty steady, fluctuating between 102 and 104°. I parked a let it idle for about 10 minutes and it maintained that temperature. The ambient temperature outside is below freezing.

Is this about the expected number or is this high for this engine?

3.0 thermostat is mechanical and OEM t-stat temp is 92C/198F. So your readings seem pretty warm to me. But I'm more familiar with the 1.8T, so I'd wait for more info from the 3.0 experts.

For comparison, those temps would not be out of the ordinary on a 1.8T at idle with the mapped thermostat.

    Thanks for the input.

The sensor is off the back of the head so I would expect it to be hot, just looking to see if this seems reasonable compared to others experience with this engine or if I should be investigating further.

I think that's normal temperatures. I see similar readings on my 3.0. These engines are producing a lot of heat.
