034 Throttle body upgrade with non-034 intake? (AWE s-flo)

Quick ? for those with the 034 motorsports throttle body upgrade....

anyone not running the 034 open intake? I have the s-flo intake and love the look and have this APR carbon fiber back tube, but the 034 silicon hose is a good 3-4" too long, heck even the APR hose looks half the length.

As i see it I can either buy the open intake from 034, or cut the 034 hose - which is "wire reinforced" - and use with my s-flo setup. Any other experiences?

Not sure it can be done with the 034 throttle body kit, but looks possible with the APR ultracharger.

I will snap a photo to show why more clearly later, but in a nutshell, 034 makes the included hose to the specs of their open air intake, which presents two problems for the s-flo setup:

1. the hose is much too long to connect to a closed intake, which makes the hose flatten when twisted/bent if you attempt to make it work, restricting airflow
2. the hose end for the 034 intake is actually wider than that used by AWE (s-flo) and APR (the carbon fiber back hose i upgraded to)

i wanted to cut a few inches off to address issue 1, but the second issue made me just order the 034 open intake for peace of mind, which means i have a killer setup i'll be selling soon (i think the s-flo and the cf apr back hose combo is insanely gorgeous)


Happy to let you know some thoughts on the sound difference post-install, but you'd have to control for the fact my closed intake sound reference is pre upgrade throttle body and pre stage 3 tuned by 034 vs my previous APR stage2 setup. If APR was still active i'd have gone full apr setup, but they aren't and their TB is slightly smaller (80mm vs 84mm).

i've got a few things up for sale but i'm currently not with them, what did you need specifically? I had the s-flo intake from awe, but i do actually have the apr airbox cover by happenstance. Unless you meant my apr backtube? May or may not have the filter
