What are you using for music (MP3, etc)

    Hi all,

I have an old Ipod that won't work with the RS6. I bought the plug conversion, but still too old. Which player are you using to stream with the bluetooth? Can you have a bluetooth player streaming music and have your phone bluetoothed as well for Waze, etc?

    Thanks!!

Using apple car play you can use a variety of players, Spotify, Pandora, Apple Music etc while using Waze, Apple Maps, Google maps etc. For my stored library I use Apple Music player. Welcome to 2022, LOL!

I copied all my music from my iPod to a USB C stick. Just plug it in to one of the slots and the MMI does the rest seamlessly

Thanks everyone - this is what I'll go with. I just have all my music in one place and want to access it whenever I need it. :) Appreciate it!

Either Apple CarPlay (I have ~270 GB of purchased music downloaded to iPhone) or SiriusXM.

Has anyone been able to use the Apple Music natively, not through CarPlay? I cannnot figure out how to enter my credentials to get it to work.

I use ALAC and AIFF files on a SD card connected via USB-C, about 700 CDs plus digital downloads from Bandcamp.

I assume the sound quality difference over mp3/stream quality is worth the hassle?

I stream Tidal (16-bit/44.1 kHz) and Qobuz (24-bit/48kHz) while in the car using my iPhone 13 Pro Max and Apple CarPlay. I stream much higher resolution music via Qobuz through my home system using my Linn Klimax DS streamer, but I think the IPhone’s internal dac is limited to 24-bit/48kHz. I’m very pleased with the sound of the B&O Advanced audio system while streaming the above sources. I would think even the native cd resolution of 16-bit/44.1 kHz would sound better to most listener’s ears than any mp3 based music.

I use a 256GB USB stick. Rip my CDs with Media Monkey and digitize my vinyl collection with Vinyl Studio. All saved to lossless compressed FLAC file format. Its amazing how good the records sound - better than the CDs in some cases. And both much better than anything streaming especially at higher sound levels. Makes the advanced 3D sound worth it.
