    My new B7 3.2l V6 Quattro

Hey guys I've been away for a while as I've just sold my Peugeot and purchased a new Audi and boy did I get lucky, I got my A4 3.2l quattro, I love it , it's the best car I've ever driven, I've been reading a lot of forums and it has prompted me to right this post because I'm fed up with 1.8l and 2l owners, when you buy a B7 3.2 for me personally I buy it knowing that because of the 12.5:1 compression ratio there is not much we can do in way of performance upgrades, which brings me to my point, it's the smaller models that use a turbo and the main thread of opinion, the B7 3.2l makes 255bhp and the 1.8 and 2l have 200bhp but every comment I hear is that they have more opportunity to add performance upgrades this may be true, they need to make 55bhp now 90 percent of these owners will never build one the other 10 percent will spend $7000 before they get close to making an extra 55bhp, I'd rather drive the 3.2l Quattro, I'll leave that for another time, it's good to be back, merry Christmas.

That's a very long sentence to say he's fed up with other owners. Nice way to start .

@Elton1973 - not sure what point you were trying to make. When buying my Avant new, one of my choices was which engine to choose. At the time I was keeping my B6 3.0 V6 so certainly knew what the V6 was capable of driving like. Ultimately I decided to save the difference in cost between engines (approx $CAD3000) but use some of my savings to put a Revo Stage 1 tune for $CAD500 on my 2.0T. That results in HP / Torque numbers somewhat close to the 3.2 V6 but with very different driving characteristics.

The 2.0T needs revs to be above 2000 rpm for smoothest pickup, while the V6 just pulled from 1500 rpm. I've never regretted choosing the 2.0T vs the 3.0 V6, still drive the Avant on a daily basis and throughly enjoy it every time. Those folks who add Stage 2 and Stage 3 tunes and associated hardware get vehicles with performance significantly above what Audi provides from the factory A4.
    Current:
    2017 B9 A4 Technik, 2.0T, 6 spd manual, S-Line, quattro with Ultra
    2008 B7 A4 Avant, 2.0T, 6MTQS, S-Line, Special Edition

    Past: - 2005 B6 A4 3.0 V6 6MTQS, 1998 B5 A4 2.8 V6 5MTQS

Where do you get $7k to make that extra 50hp? A simple tune and your pretty much there.
The NA v6 is good for a daily, to leave stock, cuz not much ya can do. And its not because it has higher comp, lol. The turbo models are just much more tunable, the NA v6 is more reliable..
But anyway, congrats on your purchase. Hope ya enjoy it.

    PS.. Punctuation is important

To be fair I think the OP meant that 90% of 2.0L owners won’t tune their vehicle and the 10% who do tend to sink a lot of $$ into the car.

C’mon man there are some commas in there a an apostrophe or two…

I found my ex an '07 3.2 with 32k miles a few years ago. She had an '06 2.0t (untuned, she didn't care) that was totaled. We test drove the 3.2 and wow, I was very impressed with the smooth power delivery and agility. I have an '06 2.0t with APR stage 1 tune. As a4audi4fun mentioned they have different driving characteristics, but I was thoroughly surprised by the 3.2. And she got all the goodies on it (navigation, HIDs, memory seats, etc), mine is the base model.

BTW you can get an extra 15(?) bhp or so with Unitronic, but it's like $700 so probably not worth it. Maybe install a cold air intake, or a K&N filter?

Yeah, can't get much from the NA v6 with tuning and bolt on. May be able,to gain 20-25hp. They do make a great, reliable daily.

Making an additional 55 hp is extremely SIMPLE and very INEXPENSIVE on the 2.0T cars. A basic ECU software reflash will bring power up to 250hp, increase torque to just under 300 ft lbs, all while improving gas milage (especially compared to the 3.2). All for ~$400 USD. Add a few bolt on and an upgraded ECU flash and your considerable quicker and more powerful than the underwhelming v6.

FWIW Id venture to say 90%+ of the folks here are modded.
