OBD port mounting clips broken, replacement?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So the clips that hold my OBD port in it's mounting location under the dash have broken, so the port just sort of flops around now. I've been searching for some kind of Y splitter or extender so I can clip the new end back in the stock location and leave a second one under the dash, but not finding anything.

I have this, which I used in my previous car, but it didn't fit. It seems like Audis have a different type of mounting?

    Anyone know of anything?

Not sure which item you're saying is damaged, the plug or the mount.

If the plug itself, it is 3A0 972 695 A, such as:
    https://www.autopartsos.com/products...udi-3a0972695a
(I would depin your original and move the wires over, rather than cut and splice anything)
    or https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...rt/3a0972695a/

If the panel that holds the plug, that is 8K1 880 301 C, then color code 6PS (black), AZ3 (gray), J42 (beige), or BD6 (brown).
Such as https://www.ebay.com/itm/384721469439 (strictly an example, not vouching for the item condition)

Yeah it's the plug. Basically the question is does such a thing as a Y harness or extension exist with that end on it, so I can just plug that into the broken (car side) end and the other end into the panel.

I think I left the ODBII bluetooth adapter plugged in, and someone hit it with their foot and broke it. If I had a Y splitter I could just leave the OBD adapter on the splitter and under the dash without it getting hit

Worst case I will just have to depin like you said and replace the plug (thank you for the part number)

by the way, would you happen to know the part number for the under-dash light on that panel? Mine is also missing for some reason. I tried to find the part number but no luck.

    OBD-II port is object 9:
    https://audi.7zap.com/en/usa/audi+a5.../9/971-971090/

driver's side dash under cover is object 24:
    https://audi.7zap.com/en/usa/audi+a5.../8/880-880015/

front footwell light is object 10:
    https://audi.7zap.com/en/usa/audi+a5.../9/947-947010/

Notice it's marked QQ1, additional interior lighting. So if your vehicle is PR QQ0, you might not even have a harness plug for the light, the plug 10 right above the plug 9 in the first link.

Thanks! yeah harness is there.... i have the light on the passenger side too. It's just the driver one is totally missing. I noticed the hole with the plug when I went under there to try and fix the OBD port. So i'll order one of those, funny thing is that panel you linked on eBay includes the light for cheaper than just buying a light, might be better off doing that. Then i have to figure out the OBD port situation. Thanks for your help with the part numbers.
