Hello all I'm new to forum. I recently purchased a 04 S4 with 112k on her. Motor was replaced at 70k paperwork to provide. Car ran great no issues until other day. I was at a local pub having a pint. Drove a friend into town ( only had 1 pint and it was like an hr before I drove) came back to pub to have 1 more and close tab. Went to start car, won't start. Starts for 1 sec and stubles then nothing end up killing battery trying to start again. What should I be looking for as why she's dead? Car turns over no noises like metal grinding or broken anything. Starter sounds strong Justin will not start. Car has fuel also. Looking for any insight into this issue or where to start looking. Thanks in advanced. PROST !

    Any lights on the dash?

Have you tried a different key/replaced the battery?

Off the top of my head it sounds like the immobilizer.

Is the tach moving when you crank it over? If the crank sensor went that will cause the problem you are describing. Its easy (somewhat) to get to from the top behind the oil filter.

It should be, yes. But if the sensor failed it won't budge.
