    Battery replacement

Im thinking to change my battery because the car It seems that no longer has that much power to start the car and I feel like I'm going to get stuck soon,

Any brand recommendations? Bosch or anything else?
What do I need to compare when I look on all the battery options?
Also do I need to program anything after I change it?

    Tnx

Determine if your battery is AGM or wet flood.
Determine if your battery is H7, H8, or H9 size (measure it, how wide is it).
Get pretty much any battery out there that is the same type and size.

Do you have VCDS or OBDeleven to interact with the adaptation value?

Since VoltasIT has still not added a service action for doing the battery adaptation, you'll need the PRO subscription to access the Adaptations action for the CAN Gateway. I don't know if you can at least access and view the existing adaptation value without PRO. But go to CAN Gateway, see if you can go into Adaptations, and look for the existing value for adaptation channel 04 (iirc). The important piece you are looking for from that value string is the 10 or 11 character part number. The 10 character serial number and the 3 letter vendor string are irrelevant.

Or you can just look in the battery well and see what type and size battery you have. If it's original, it might have an actual part number right on it.

Updating the adaptation value is most definitely preferred. Necessary if you install a different type/size battery than already encoded in the adaptation. Preferred if you install the same type/size battery. When the same, you'd just update the serial number by changing any digit in it so the J533 resets the battery statistics. When different, you need to change the part number string to the correct string for the type/size battery you installed (and change the serial number to something different too).

I bought a battery from Costco. Dropped it in and got going. You can chance the battery code by 1 digit if you want. Takes a minute via VCDS. Not sure if really necessary.
