2010 A4 Quattro 2.0T TFSI (B8) - Cabin area fuel smell, Faulty HPFP?

Hoping someone could help me solve this issue with this car.

Was starting the car last night and got a mild fuel smell while inside the cabin of the car with the doors closed however the smell dissipated after a moment or two. Later I noticed it again while driving around town today. On the way home it started hesitating sporadically while at highway cruise speeds. However, can definitely feel the hesitation while trying to accelerate on the highway and on side streets.
It seems as though it has a slightly longer start time then usual, but dose start and seems to idle fine.

Just got a CEL with several DTC....misfire codes: P0300, P0302-P0304. Currently my computer is down along with it the ross-tech software needed to capture and read the codes. I found an older Acutel code reader to pull what I have of the DTC.

I've changed the plugs and the coils and both O2 sensors. When replacing the plugs/O2 sensors I noticed that they were covered with dry, dull, black soot looking material, (carbon) I'm guessing. Which seemed odd to me as the engine cylinder head was just reworked and reinstalled practically new over this last summer. After replacing the plugs/O2 sensors it ran fine for roughly 300 miles when the CEL came on again with same DTC. The fuel smell never really went away...so, still there.

Opened the hood and took a peek around. The fuel smell isn't as strong under the hood in the engine compartment itself but it's there.
Smell seems to be localized to the HPFP area but I saw no outright fuel leaks anywhere.

Are these indicators that the diaphragm inside the HPFP has gone bad?
If so how's the fuel smell getting into the car cabin area?

At about 30k miles my 2010 A4 had a faulty fuel injector that caused the engine to completely stall. Smell of fuel was present.

When I had the cylinder head rebuilt this last summer I replaced the fuel injectors and seals with a kit from ECS tunning. Could they have been faulty out of the box?
Thought it weird that I got misfires on all the other cylinders but cylinder #1. Not sure what to make of that.

Check the fuel pump cover on the tank (under rear seat). They crack and leak when the tank is full. Probably not the problem given you have other signs of trouble (codes listed), but easy to check.
