    034 or ECS X-pipe

Hey everyone, I’m new to the Audi platform, well I had a MK5 VW R32 prior to this so kinda close to here with are with a new to me 2019 S4. Question for you all on replacing the mid pipe.

Looking into either the 034 or ECS X-pipe but haven’t seen too many comparisons. I tried searching here but results are limited on my cellphone.

So what’s your vote and why?

Comparing sound, ease of install, quality & reversibility.

    Thanks in advance

Neither as they both add drone. I would go IE mid pipes. Sound much better and as it’s all bolt on no chopping it’s easy to put back to stock.

Ah, right on. Didn’t see much detailed content for 034 but did hear something about drone for the ECS.
Thanks for that. I’ll check out IE, but maybe that’s a sign to save for a full exhaust down the road.

Any sound clips you know of for someone with mid-pipe + decat?

VPS front resonator deletes add great sound and no drone, if that’s what you’re after. It’s an easy install and the OEM pipe can be clamped back in if needed.

With OEM DP only. If you have decat, then it's drone galore.

I have been running the ECS res-dlt with stock cat and exhaust flap open at all times, and there is a little bit of drone but nothing to crazy... I can put my 4yr old and my 19m old to sleep in the car without an issue....

034 does have some more bracing than the ECS does.
The clamps with the ECS kit, ARE HORRIBLE..... I had to use copper gasket maker to seal up an exhaust leaks on the clamps b/c it crimped before it was even tight enough to stop the pipe from slipping out.
I do mix driving with in the Chicago land area on the highway and the side streets. drone is there from 2-3k however, I listen to my music at 50% volume almost all the time and it doesnt bother me at all.
The car sound much meaner, the burbles are alot louder

I'm looking to add the VSP pipes next year for more sound volume.

Mine is fantastic with catless/vps. Sure there is some drone in dynamic sport but in comfort, its a tiny growl on the inside. Obviously drone is subjecting.

I have the ECS X pipe on my car with the driver side valve unplugged in the open position (it was rattling really bad when closed) I really like it but sometimes I wish it was a little bit louder. On the highway I get some drone in Sport mode but when I switch to normal Drive its fine. Does anyone have a video of the VPS and ECS/034 combo? I have been considering this but could not find videos of the sound

I had the 034 x pipe. In my opinion it droned too much for me especially in Dynamic S mode at 2100 rpms to 2500.

Here is a video of it.
