    Remote start help?

Hello, I am interested in purchasing an after market remote start for my Audi A4 2017. I don’t need any extra app to start it if it cost extra just want to start my car using the factory remote. I was looking at something like this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/363569197912?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=i2TTtLcjQC-&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=54rhgacrTu6&var=&widget_ve r=a rtemis&media=COPY

but I was hoping for suggestions to get. From what I see most require a second key which I don’t have. When I purchased the car they only gave me one. Is there a place I can buy a second key fob to just leave in these kits for these remote starts as they tell you to remove the battery and key from it. Please advise and help.

also I live in the US if that matters

If I need the second key can I buy one that isn’t programmed as they say to remove the key and battery for the one that sits in the box? Is there a key I can by for this other than the dealer?

    thank you!

You will definitely need a 2nd key fob. You only need the fob, without the mechanical key and without the battery -- you can purchase the fob from the dealership, and expect the cost to be around $275 for the part, and $150 or so for your dealer to program it. It must be programmed by your dealer to start your car.

Also - just so you know -- the fob still works for starting a car without a battery -- at very close range, the receiver can send enough power to the fob to transmit. Thats why if your fob battery is dead, you can still start your car with it bu holding it against the spot in the center console.
