A7 vs S7 vs RS7….. Mod for Mod

So this is more or less me thinking out loud and was wanting some feedback. Earlier this year I began a search for an RS6 or RS7 and found none in stock a the ones that were sold at 40-50k over MSRP and that was more than I was willing to pay to be apart of the Quattro Crew. My dealer told me he had a S7 and I should come take a look at it since it was under the budget I had given him. I told him say less and send the paperwork and just like that I was finally an Audi owner. Over the years my wife and I have always loved the German brands but alway ended up with Benz ( C63, S63 coupe) or BMW ( M3 , M6) and they were all very easy to find mods for and had our fun but I was looking forward to the Audi experience so it was a good change for us….. I say all of that to say this…..

Why is it the S7 has the least about of mod support out of any of these cars? It’s crazy to me that you can get more mods for an A7 or RS7 then an S7. The tune for the S7 ( correct me if I’m wrong) is like 40hp. You get more hp from a A7 tune or RS7 tune. Rear diffusers front splitters all seem to be only for A7 or RS7 . Exhaust systems…… all for A7 or RS7. I’ve seen one resonator delete, but I have yet to see a cat that or a full exhaust system for the S7. What gives? I don’t understand, am I missing something or just not searching properly?

Welcome to our life...redstar told me awhile ago they were working on downpipes for the S6. I find the issue to be the 2.9tt is already pretty maxed out. I have the roc euro intake, redstar reso delete, and APR stage 1 93 octane which is great. But I have heard the 2.9L is unforgiving when it comes to mods. I bought my S6 because I have a 12 yr old, and my old A4 wouldn't cut it in terms of size since we do alot of road trips to Disney, universal, busch gardens. I wanted something with some punch. The S6 just met my needs with size.

It is unfortunate, but hopefully someone comes out w a decent exhaust soon at the minimum. Also remember they sell about 1200 S6 models a year (S7 might be slightly more), I would bet 1000 of them are old men who don't want to modify.

Only engine mods I know about for C8 S cars:

    Intake (roc euro/apr)
    Ecu stage 1 apr
    Reso delete
    Fuel pump from apr
    Red coils

I hope this helps, and I feel your pain.

If you have an APR tune stage 1 you must have one of the early ECUs because anything after March 2022 they haven't cracked yet since Audi changed the ECU supplier. I can't even tune mine since I have the new ECU, no box codes yet.

I agree though the S6 isn't a mod machine, my old S4 was faster but this car is much nicer. I'd be perfectly happy with this car if I could just get a stage 1 on it. All I have is the APR intake and a serious urge to mod.
2019 S4 Quantum w/Magma. EPL, intake, Forge FMIC, ABT Lowering springs. Loving every minute of it.

Yes it's a 2020 C8. I was not aware of this. Great info on the ecu. I love my burbles and crackles when downshifting. My neighborhood does not.

It's frustrating for sure. I'm happy as hell with the stage 1 ecu , don't get me wrong. But all I want for my A6 is a proper intake system developed up to the turbo and a catback/ rear diffuser showing some real muffle tips to finish off my stage 1. 4 years into the platform you would think this would be addressed already....I'm afraid by the time everything is out I'll be on the tail end of my ownership window. Such an amazing daily car so far otherwise.
