B9 3.0T low oil pressure light

Getting low oil pressure light do not drive on dash. Oil level is fine, I can definitely tell something is off when starting. Sounds slightly like a power steering whine almost. Have not driven more than a couple hundred feet while this light is on. Car has just under 40k. 034 stage 1 e85. See some posts on oil pressure switch’s that have went bad but that wouldn’t cause the entire oil pump to shut down would it? There is definitely something off I’m assuming the oil pump which seems very low mileage to be replacing. Has anyone had similar issues with the 3.0 oil pressure like this?

It can't "shut down". It's chain driven. I would start by verifying oil pressure with a mechanical gauge and go from there. If the B9 is like earlier gens, you can put a mechanical gauge where the switch threads in. If you're not comfortable doing this take it to a competent shop. Unfortunately, low oil pressure is rarely due to a bad pump, you may have something more serious going on.
