    Replacing the cabin air filter…wtf

Seems like they could have made an easier design. First being an older guy it isn’t easily accessible considering the difficulty it is to unclip. Just to get a decent view. I tried pressing down with my fingers and damn. Needed up using a screw driver in between the clip and twister to move the panel off of the clip. Now I see why the dealership and or speed shops want near $200.

That panel door isn’t going anywhere that’s for sure. Next time I will attempted in in the summer when the plastic is more forgiving.

    Rant over..

Wait till you DIY carbon clean the intake valves!

While your there might as well change the thermostat and water pump! Then pop in a new set of injectors!

I applaud your skills. The cabin air filter replacement is difficult enough.

When i saw the title to your thread, i actually laughed out loud. I knew what it was going to be about. I changed mine a couple of months, and for a cabin air filter it is ridiculously complicated. I am 55 yrs. old, 6'4" about 270 lbs. I am just glad nobody saw me changing it, hahaha

I found it very easy to change... Remove the cover that "hinges" on one side. Pop the tabs on the interior cover. Pull old filter out, remember orientation. Install new filter. Install interior cover by putting lower tabs in and tilt up. Install exterior cover by inserting the tab that "hinges" and press in to click.

I think the process is easy, it’s just the fact that you borderline have to be a contortionist to get down there behind the glove box.

This and the tabs I found problematic. Little space between the lower tab that needs pressing and the upper stationary piece above the tab. Just gettin and eyeball on it is also difficult. ghall size alone would make it very difficult.
