    5 cylinder cars.

I'm curious if anyone else has owned a car with a 5 cylinder other than an RS3, TTRS or earlier Audis? I owned a 1992 Acura Vigor with a 2.5L 5 cylinder. It had 176hp and 170 lb/ft of torque. Not much of a performer but it did sound decent. Of course, nothing like my RS3.

Now approaching age 83 and currently driving a 2019 Audi RS 3 now with 42,710 miles on it of which 30,751 have been fast country back road runs 3 days a week as weather permits. I have not driven another 5 cylinder automobile other than our 2019 Audi RS 3. But have driven a considerable number of 4-cylinder vehicles over the past 65 years. They all had their own 'voice' that often could be distinushed as to who built them. The Audi's 5-cylinder engine 'tone' is very unique. I don't ever recall hearing an engine sound like our Audi RS 3 generates.

I had a MkV Golf. Friend of mine also had a MkV Golf as well as a Volvo V70.

I believe 170hp from the NA form for the MK5 Golf with the 2.5L motor.

I've heard a Acura Vigor and 2.5 TL with an exhaust and it sounds pretty good...

07k was was an option in plenty of VW. They also had a VR5 engine that didn't come to the states.
There were plenty of Volvo's that came with turbocharged I5.
GM used a 5-cylinder in Hummer H3 and Colorado trucks.

That about all I can think of... I'm sure there are diesel variants out there.

2010 Chevy Colorado with a 3.7L 5-cyl a buddy of mine had. I made fun because it was so quirky in a truck.

Our 2019 Audi RS 3 was rated at 397 HP but two other Dyno services I've used over many years
showed that our slightly tweeked RS 3 such as our's was producing 413-420 HP. As a longtime
'Hydromatic' user in modified engine vehicles over many years, I've found Audi's current auto
transmission to be an exceptional transmission indeed, based on now our 30,751 miles of
very fast country back raod runs made diuring when very few others are on these roads at the
same time. Total mileage to date is 42,862 miles as of last week, of which 30,751 miles
have been fast country back road runs, 10am to 2pm as weather permits.

The Michelin Pilot Sport AS3+ 245/40/18 tires on Neuspeed RSe10 alloy 18x8.5 wheels which
IMMEDIATELY replaced the 235/35/19 tires on our Audi, which were totally unsatisfactory!
Two of them suffered tread failure and failed within the first two days we owned the Audi,
driving on aged country back roads, which these tires FAILED on! Their replacements are STILL
running these roads weekly, as weather permits and now at 42,862 miles of use.

We don't run on weekends due to traffic. Only several days a week, weather permitting and
typically between 10am and 2 pm when these roads are typically otherwsie empty of other
vehicles. Have to watch out for the mail delivery people though and the occasional grocery
shopper and visiting friends. Otherwsie the roads we test on are typically vacant of any
other vehicles during this time of day... during the 39 years we've lived in this area to date.

    My Photo Gallery is active!
Although it still displays a stupid 'O' which means WHAT?

Not a car and it doesn't have 5 cylinders, but it does have an odd number of cylinders =)

    This is the answer.

"RS3 engine without turbos" is not a useful machine. I don't understand what the OP is trying to get at.

Not asking if it is useful I am curious if anyone knows what the 5cyl puts out at the crank or better yet, on a dyno in NA form.

In theory, 15 psi of boost doubles your horsepower. Stock this car makes 20, so you could do the math that way.

Of course, it is much more complicated than that.
