Clarification on using A6 Coilovers on Allroad (holes in the upper control bracket)

    Hey Folks,

I have an 04 Allroad that Im going to convert over to coilovers. Theres a local guy with a set of coilovers that are for the same era A6. I understand it is essentially interchangeable, but there is the need to drill some holes in the Allroad upper control arm bracket to accommodate the studs for the A6 coilover (vs. the holes that receive bolts in the OEM Allroad airshock).

I saw some other threads on various sites stating the need to drill holes - and I have no problem doing so. My only concern is how do you ensure correct alignment when drilling the holes? Here are some reference pictures from the other sites that show the set up:

Sorry if my question is confusing - Im asking how do you align the assembly so that you drill the holes in the correct alignment so that the coilover can bolt in appropriately on the bottom end?

I made a bunch of adapters that will enable you to bolt those coilovers into your Allroad. PM me if you would prefer to use the adapters rather than drill holes!

Try to avoid drilling the holes, don't want to damage the sealing surface if you ever go back to airbags.
