    Question On Redline Indicator Lights

After almost 4 months since taking delivery of my 2022 RS6 I’ve surpassed break in miles. I thought I would give it more throttle for the first time since break in. I was headed up a long, clear on ramp in while in RS1 mode in Drive, gave it maybe 3/4 throttle and the car reached redline in third gear and flashed red without shifting to 4th before that point. I guess I assumed the car would shift to the next gear in Drive mode before flashing red. I immediately let off the throttle and it shifted. Is this normal? Shouldn’t the car shift up before flashing red? Car was warmed up.

    Btw, I love this car.

Finally found my own answer on the second time through the owners manual.

It’s the shift indicator light I was seeing flash in the heads up display right below the bar graph rpm gauge.
