    Shark fin options

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I have a nardo grey coupe. Wrapped the roof in flood black. Shop said the fin is too hard to wrap. They suggested a cover. I’ve read that the cover cuts off satellite. Any options or recommendations to make it either black or carbon fibre? Is it worth buying a gloss black from the factory?

Why not leave as is as a highlight point? Your roofline edges aren't wrapped anyways.

I may do that. I want to see the options at least. I did order the carbon cover. But I’ve read it cuts reception. If that’s the case, it’s returnable.

I had a CF ECS piece - Accidentally threw it in the trash. Didn't re-order because after seeing the car come together, it felt kinda tacky. It's real CF, but everyone knows it jacks up the signal and isn't an OEM or OEM equivalent.

Did it mess with the signal that much? It looks cheap?

Never tested it - Threw it in the trash like an ass.

My recommendation - See if you can get your sprayed/dipped gloss black (or whatever fits your color scheme).

There is an Audi gloss black p/n for black optics optioned cars that I'm sure Ben (Mops@NemesisAutosport) could help you spec, too.

I would just Plasti Dip spray paint it black. You can always peel it off if it does not work out.

I’ve read it’s in-depth to remove. Just not worth the hassle.

    I’ve debated this direction.

I may have to rethink this. The roof looks slick. They used black ppf which looks identical to the glass. Looks like a Tesla now.

Also - I wouldn't say the ECS CF piece necessarily looked cheap - Just unreasonable to have that be CF.

Spray it with plastic dip. Nothing to worry about. Did it 3 years ago, and no issues

yeah you will need to drop the headliner to remove it
which involves removing a lot of interior trim
and chances are some clips will be broken during the removal or reinstall
and you will have ratlles etc
just plastidip it or keep it as is
