Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 replacement question

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So I’ve had a set of Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 snow tires on RSE10’s for my winter setup and they have served me well. I probably have ~4k miles on them.

I need to replace one tire. Would it be safe to replace not one tire if the rest have 4000 miles on them? I see Michelin recommends installing in sets of 4 for safe handling characteristics, but I really don’t want to replace all 4 if I don’t have to.

    Thanks!

It’s more about tread depth than miles, those are what 10/32’s new? So I’d say if you are within 2, 3/32’s max you’ll be fine, just put the new one on the back
Stage 1 more than you RS3

Also, if the tread depth is greater than 2-3/32, you can also purchase a shaved tire on tirerack. They’ll shave down to a maximum of 6/32. Just an option incase you have to replace one during the mid life of your tires.

Measures the other tires and they are at 9/32. I believe they are 10.5/32 new. Tire rack does not have them in stock in my size for tire shaving. Looking for a local place that does but can’t find any right now. They are in stock at other retailers.
