    Shop in Dallas, Texas?

Hi, can anyone recommend any shops that would be willing to put a used DSG transmission in a 2015 Audi A3 around the Dallas, Texas area?

I've called dozens of shops and no one is willing to do it, I am here on contract work and my guy back in California said he would do it, but I do not want to have to ship my car.

So I have to ask...what's wrong with the DSG to require replacing the entire DSG?

Well it spent 4 weeks at the stealership for them to come back with a diagnostic and it was what I already knew.. Should've never brought it there cause now it doesn't even go into gear and you can smell the clutch burning.

    The codes I had were
    P072D00: Stuck in Gear 2
    P073E00: Unable to Engage Reverse
    P179C00: Main Pressure Valve
    P184A00: Main Pressure Adaptation
    P271100: Unexpected Mechanical Gear Disengagement
P173400: Starter Release from the selector lever sensor system

There is also a leak somewhere, was hoping the dealership would've found it for me but all they literally did was scan it for codes and tell me replacement.

My car came back from the dealership with this code, was not there previously.

    P176E00: Clutch 2 opens unintentionally

Check out Zinkwerkes or Dubsquared. Though I generally do all my own stuff, I've used both of these shops with good results. There are others too, but I have first hand experience with these.

I had a terrible experience at that dealer. They had the nerve to charge me a $200 diagnostic fee as well.

Just happy to have the car back though, running or not.

I've had REALLY, REALLY bad experiences at several Dallas area Audi dealerships - almost enough to swear me off the brand. Never, Ever, go to them for anything here.

That is something I heard SEVERAL TIMES at an Audi Club Lone Star meet a few weeks ago. Im lucky to have several mod- friendly dealers in Houston.

Well that is good to know.. Hard to explain how I was treated, but like you said it made me consider swearing off the brand. I was nothing but respectful towards them, but it's nice to know that I wasn't singled out for whatever reason.

Well, here's to hoping I can get this car back on the road without breaking the bank.

Dude, thank you so much for these recs! Been in touch with Zinkwerkes and going to have my car towed there this Saturday. Total job runs to about $1,900 (parts/labor)

Will update this thread when I get her back on the road!

8 days later, and ZinkWerks has her back on the road with a used transmission @ 35k miles.. Total job came out to $2,330 with parts/labor and an alignment.

Couldn't be more happier with how things turned out, put on a nice 100 miles today and she was running great.

I know I've said it once before, but thank you so much Spinnetti on your shop rec, you saved me money, time, and a large headache.
