You can also make yourself an inexpensive extension cable and mount the jb4 under the cowl behind the false firewall. Works nicely there and BT is closer to the cabin so less chance of any issues.

Pretty easy really. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00O073ZR4/ grab one of those, will need to trim with a utility knife. This will allow you extend their cable and place under passenger side cowl area or other location away from engine.
