    Alignment after New Tires

    Hi All

Picked up new tires this weekend and the shop recommended an alignment after checking with their machine. I didn’t do it yet as I am still not sure RS cars with ACC can be only be aligned by Audi. Called the dealership and they quoted me $600 for alignment with ACC and $1100 for all 5 sensors.

Has anyone else done the dealership route and paid the $600/$1100 or just let an Indy shop do the basic alignment?

From what I found, the Indy shops won’t touch the alignment because of how much all the sensors come into play. My dealership said that they are $200 per system that needs to be adjusted and it was a 4 hour job with the alignment and the 2 sensors mine required. My service advisor assisted the cost through creative packaging of the alignment and it ended up costing me $778 to have 4 wheels road-force balanced, alignment and 2 sensors done.

Thanks! Audi of Meadowlands in NJ said they typically only do the ACC. I think I am going to do the alignment at the dealership.

The Audi Sport tech at my dealer said that while Audi says all the sensors need to be calibrated during an alignment, if no suspension changes have been made, he will perform a plain alignment without the sensor calibration if you ask.

Interesting. I am going to ask my trusted Indy their thoughts.

My dealer says the same thing.

I have had alignment quotes from different Audi dealers range from 189 to 600. You might want to shop around.
