Oil filter housing Q- Would a Febi part have an Audi logo on it?

Paid to have my oil filter housing replaced by a shop and when I picked up the car they had specifically told me they weren't able to get an Audi branded filter housing and instead used a Febi part.

Was doing an oil change today and noticed the oil filter housing had the Audi 4 ring logo on it.

Would a Febi part have Audi ring logo on it and is there any sort of date code on the housing so I can tell if it's a new part?

    Thanks!

So the oil filter stand is 06E 115 405 C, later 06E 115 405 K. The only aftermarket analog the parts catalog seems to list is Mahle / Knecht OX381D.
Here we see one clearly marked Mann (which is now part of Mahle as I understand it): https://www.ebay.com/itm/143582076770
So what exactly is on yours, besides four little circles?

So Bilstein Febi catalog shows a Febi Bilstein one and a "Blue Print" one. The images show no markings, which is unlikely. So can't say they are really reliable. But as a third-party and certainly not an OEM, there won't be a Febi version with rings. Google search for Febi 172201 just comes up also with more stock images of unmarked parts.

The Febi part they bought is likely a genuine Audi part and the same one that audi would have sold you.

This is called an original equipment part; they typically have the audio logo scratched off with everything else being the same: https://www.fcpeuro.com/page/oe-academy

I'm unsure if there would be any type of date code on the housing. You may be able to look up the part number to see if there were any revisions; a newer part # would indicate that they actually did replace it.
Could it also be the filter housing that attaches to the engine block and not the one that holds the filter its self?

I assume there is a reason you had it replaced. What was the issue with it? Is that issue still present?

    Thanks folks!

The oil filter housing installed is most definitely marked as an OEM Audi part. Will see if I can make out the part #.

I paid for the whole housing to be premptively replaced in June 2022. It was done as part of a repair involving re-sealing of the upper timing chain covers to address a small oil leak.

Unfotunately, 5 months later, oil has started leaking again and its worse.

Original shop doesn't seem to know why or where it's leaking from. Taking for a second opinion next week.
