    Question Weird oil loss issue

    2011 B8 S4 DSG using Liquimoly 5w40 (blue container)

For the last 3-5 months my car has been losing random small amounts of oil. I've checked for leaks looking into the engine bay, but I have yet to lift it and check under.
It's not a consistent loss which is odd. I'll try to make this short.

    1) Filled oil to max fill line on dipstick 30 days ago.
    2) Each day I make about 3-4 trips 5 miles/15 mins each, during the last 30 days it held oil just fine.
    3) Today (30 days after it was topped) I made a 1.5 hour trip and it LOST 10% of the dipstick.
    4) The next morning (overnight without driving) it lost ANOTHER 10% of the dipstick.
    5) Next-next morning, it's back up 10%? Kind of seems like normal fluctuation but idk. I always check when the car is off and engine is cold.

Currently 2 days later it's still the same at a total of 10% down. I wouldn't be worried but 2 months ago I had to add almost an entire liter over 2.5k miles.
However, it seems to have slowed down for now. It's gotten colder since then, maybe that's why?

I'm considering getting the PCV replaced if it picks back up again in the spring, but other than that, any ideas?

Double check your measurement procedure for consistency. Is the car parked on a slope when you take a measurement? Do you always measure the oil level in the same parking spot/location? How does the MMI oil level readout compare with the dipstick measurement?

What other evidence do you have to support a failing PCV?

I measure it in the same parking spot, it's pretty flat. Always measure it cold, if not I wait a few hours for oil to drain back into pan first. MMI always matches the dipstick, except when measuring right after driving and shutting the car off. MMI seems to store the reading from when it was first turned on that day and doesn't update in real time. That's the reason I check it cold.

I do not have any evidence that the PCV is failing other than reading it's a common cause of oil loss/burning. I checked for suction under the oil cap and it seemed normal, just a small amount, maybe 1-3 psi?
    Thanks
