    Rear camera issue

Looking for some help or advice on my rear camera issue. 2013 s4 b8.5 battery gave up about a week ago I bought a battery from Costco. Turned car on and the car no longer communicates with the rear camera module. I have 3 main codes

    -rearview camera system control module”no signal/communication “

-function limitation due to insufficient voltage

-supply voltage lower limit not reached

I tried coding the battery to the interstate code but no avail, so I just changed the number on the code in the system by one number and it was accepted

Any help would be great I know there was a few TSB for the rear camera on these cars but my codes don’t match what the TSB describes.

    Thanks

I doubt it is a battery issue. The rear view camera is a known issue with our cars. Search the forums for rear view camera and there are several threads for fixes. Mine ended up being bad/loose connector at the camera harness, unplugging and replugging fixed mine.

You have DTCs, but you don't say which control module each is from. These are all from the CAN Gateway (address 19)? Clear DTCs and see what comes back. Some of those are a given in a battery change scenario.

As for the no comms to the J772, check the fuse for it. For B8.5, it's right rear corner, column "E", fuse 6 (5A). Fuse 1 is to the inside of the vehicle, fuse 12 is to the outside of the vehicle.

Mine went out under warranty luckily, but I believe the camera harness module went out. I have since replaced it with a rsnav 720p camera.

If your aftermarket system has an input for an aftermarket camera, sure. It likely won't have the directional guide lines on it, but you'll have an image.

I actually have an aftermarket system too (rsnav). I just routed the camera wires to the aftermarket unit instead.
