What do you think of this modified SQ5 for sale?

Looking to possibly replace my wife's 2020 Acura RDX which has been a big disappointment.

Saw a modified 2019 SQ5 for sale local to me, is there anything I should be looking out for with this vehicle? It is a stage 2 (034 tune/CTS DP) with low mileage and KW HAS suspension.

If they couldn't take 5 min to simply dust off the dash or clean the floor mats imagine how well it was cared for...

I mean if that's $44k USD and only 18k miles, that's a bit of a steal. I got mine a couple months ago for 42k at 29k miles similar spec, but red interior and a flat bottom wheel. Even if they treated the car like shit they couldn't have possibly done that much damage to it with so little miles... plus you're getting a cool $4k worth of mods and 500hp right out of the gate. plus they paid for audi care.

OP should call the local Audi dealer, and ask them to look up the VIN to make sure it's not TD1.

When I click on the link, I see $59,999. My 21 P+ SQ5 stickered at $68k almost 2 years ago. This one comes with a voided powertrain warranty because of it's tune. I wouldn't touch this with a pole. If I want a car modded, I would rather do it myself. Modded cars usually sell for less than blue book.

    $60,00 Canada bucks though.

Lower market priced and heavily modified. Some people see it as a deal while others will see this as a major risk.

I spoke to the owner, the DP has no high flow cat, so the exhaust appears to be completely unfiltered. How bad are the fumes in this situation? Does the SQ5 have secondary cats or just the DP cat? I could buy a catted DP and install that instead, but its not appealing.

As far as TD1/voided warranty, it is a 2019 model year and its almost 2023. The warranty would be expiring due to the passage of time fairly soon.

And yes the price is in CAD and translates to about $44k USD. For comparison purposes, ordering a new 2023 SQ5 technik starts at about $74k CAD without a single option. Most SQ5s are $80-90k new in CAD at MRSP.

Do you have smog police in Canada like we do in California? Cars need to pass a smog check during transfer of ownership.

downpipe cat only. on regular 91 octane the smell is pretty bad. Not horrible, but worse than what most people would be comfortable with. If you have access to e85 then I would do that, smell on mine is almost non existent with that same downpipe at e80. Don’t worry about warranty. Your engine isn’t going to blow up in the next 6 months. But you might have some annoying electrical problems here and there like I did near the end of my warranty, and that’s not going to be voided.

worst case scenario you might have a thermostat failure like some people on here. that’ll be up to the dealer.

I just had both front window regulators replaced, one of my blind spot indicator lights replaced that was delaminating, the chassis control module recall done, and issues with flickering compass on my mirror and the dome light randomly turning itself on while driving all fixed under warranty. I dropped it off with the 034 stage 2 91 tune flashed and a catless downpipe along with all my other mods. no issue.

Yes, catless smells. Yes, catless is fairly loud and raspy. If you remove the catless DP you'll have to replace it with some sort of aftermarket high flow option to retain the 034 stage 2 tune.

Seller started to interact in the forum setting:
    https://www.audizine.com/forum/showt...SQ5-Dad-mobile

If the assumption of the ad is true and is in CAD and KM, 44.5k for 17k mile with mods that you like and is packaged to your expectations is a good deal to me.

TD1 and Powertrain warranty may be moot for a 2019 depending on original purchase date (i.e. late 2018 purchase on "2019s"), else you're coming up on the 4 year limit anyway. I wouldn't worry about it, 034 tunes aren't known to cause issues.
