We have a new to us 2017 A3 for the kiddo, can someone confirm the HID bulbs?
I was pretty confident they were DS3s but after searching some topics on here, there were some folks posting that 2017+ were a DS5.............

Also, has anyone done any comparison of the deAuto Xenon bulbs vs Osram Night Breakers?

    Thanks

As far as the question about Nightbreakers versus cheaper alternatives, the expensive bulbs will always be the better choice. Better arc stability, manufacturing precision (meaning retains proper optics for the best hot spot) as well as lifespan.

Just be sure to buy from a trusted source. Do not buy them from places like amazon or eBay. High end HID bulbs are highly counterfeited items.

I have a lot of drive hours behind the Osram Nightbreaker Laser bulbs as well as the Philips Xtreme Vision gen 2. Both are fantastic bulbs, the Osram is the same color as an OEM bulb(4300k) and the Xtreme Vision almost matches the color of my diode dynamics fog lights (4800k).

Also worth noting, HID bulbs lose about half their intensity by 1,000 burn hours so I'm sure with the car being 5 years old, there would be a noticeable difference just in a bulb swap for OEM units

thanks all! Looks like deAuto doesn't have the DS5 bulbs so I'll look for the alternatives.
We love the deAuto halogen upgrades and LED bulbs in our other Audis but the stockers seem dim on our kids A3 even though it is sitting with 20k miles when we got it.

Might have to check out the Xtreme, do prefer the 4800k color a little better.
