    B9 S5 SB build thread

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So guys, here’s a build thread for my new to me 2019 S5 SB Prestige package.

She is currently sitting stock but parts have been ordered and should start getting delivered in a week or two.

    Here’s the list so far:

    1. Audi’s resonator delete. Not because I bought it but asked the dealer to throw it in. I pay for labor of course.

    2. Some off brand carbon shift knob cover. Looks pretty good for a $20 “mod”

    IMG_8016.jpg

    3. Enthusiast brands:

    V style carbon trunk spoiler
    OEM+ dashboard ambient light kit
    Carbon mirror caps
    Sequential turn signals
    CF RS honeycomb grill

    4. Blaque Diamond F20 wheels. 20x10 +30 in gloss black

    5. OEM+ passenger side display screen

    6. ECS tuning front, side and rear CF diffuser

    7. VPS intercooler to Throttle charge pipe with BOV

    8. APR carbon intake

    9. Olea Green wrap for the car

    10. Milltek exhaust

    11. Suspension TBD

Couple of other small shenanigans here and there. Will start posting pics soon.

Also contemplating carbnlabs carbon seat shells but not sure about that yet.

FWIW that ambient light kit looks identical to the ones on Alibaba for $95. Just saying. Good luck with the build!

Lots of stuff is here, wheels and tires should be here Tuesday and everything is getting slapped on Wednesday.

Wrap and headlights will be done between Dec19th-Jan3rd. Suspension should be end of Jan-ish.

Big shoutout to people over at ECS Tuning for having my exhaust delivered to me in ONE day, that too on a Sunday without charging me for it!

    Super excited

Not going to lie, that hood is beautiful. I’ve been considering getting a forged carbon fiber hood with a window and I think you just sold me.

Any pics of the mirror caps/thoughts?

Also not sure if you have done it already, but I had heard that when removing the front bumper on B9s with Adaptive Cruise there would be a code thrown when you disconnect the sensors...a few people had mentioned that disconnecting the battery before unplugging the sensors would prevent this but I haven't done it personally.

    Looks good so far!

Mirror caps are really good quality and so far no issues with the grill or bumper being replaced but car is under the knife currently getting wrapped and the shop ran into the issue of how to place the foot trunk release mechanism in the carbon diffuser.
Currently on vacay but we’ll see how things go when im back in a few days

Last photo of the year. I will probably end up wrapping the forged cf hood as well leaving the vents exposed. Opinions welcome!

Happy new year everyone and enjoy the new year in good health!

Definitely wrap the hood (imo). Also is the hood open? If not, there's a pretty big gap between the the side of the hood that overlaps the fender. All in all, not my cup of tea but glad you're enjoying modifying it!

Question, where did you get the hood? It looks like the one CMST/Performance Speed Shop offers. Thanks!

Ah nice, glad to finally see someone buy a hood from them. How is the fit? Was installation easy, like just moving over the hood latch and rubber stoppers?

Hood looks terrible, definitely would wrap it...

Wheel color isn't flowing either, with the green wrap... at least not in this garage lighting...

I ordered a Milltek exhaust from ECS tuning. First they sent me two sets of mid-pipes with no mufflers. Fine, i returned and bought a new one off them only this time I didn’t get any tips or hangers. So I called and they sent them in. Happy-ish ending.

Now I ordered a front strut brace and being that I was ordering with ECS, a VERY reputable name, I sent it straight to be powder coated. My shop just called me to tell me the driver side wont fit. I called up ECS immediately to explain the situation and all I got was “oh should have test fitted before because now we can’t take it back. You can also order another one for a $15 discount but that’s the best we can do” lol

Further update, semi wrapped up the hood and thanks to Mops, have a set of BBS CH-R II enroute. Downpipe being installed and ECU and TCU being flashed tomorrow.

Can’t wait for this project to be done so I can just drive and enjoy
